Herolab for ORC?

Anybody out there familiar enough with Herolab to design an ORC module? It would be sooooo much easier than my existing rough attempts at doing character creation in Excel.

I looked a bit at the documentation. It looks very powerful, but that means it's fairly complicated and time consuming. I find it hard imagining myself finding time to work through it.

Several years ago I tried to create a step-by-step character generation system/calculator for FWTD (programming it in ASP so it could be web based), and got a good way into. I got to advantages and disads, which is when I pretty much had to give up, because there are so many things they can change. One advantage might adjust your skill cost down, with one minimum, and another might try to adjust it down again with a different minimum. Programming in all those exceptions proved to require more time than I had to spend.

In later incarnations of ORC, I tried to avoid things that would adjust people's skill costs. Rather than having an advantage lower your skill costs, for example, I'm preferring to have it just give you some free skills. I feel this makes character creation simpler and easier. When I get a chance to do a FWTD 2.0, I'm going to adopt this method. This should make it significantly easier to make an online character generator.

Creating an ORC-L character generation aid/calculator should be fairly easy. Then again, ORC-L character creation is much simpler so there is much less need for some sort of automated character generation aid/calculator.

Thanks for the quick feedback. The ads and disads are where I run into problems too. Mostly that's with Fates though.
